10 Things guests notice when entering your home

Your home is your sanctuary, and you should keep it the way that it makes sense for you and your family. With that being said, there are some things that you can do when you have guests to make them feel more comfortable in your home. Guests take 38 seconds to form an initial judgement when they enter your home. Of course, you want that first impression to be a positive one. ✨

It’s your home and anyone coming over should love you no matter what, but let’s talk about some things you can do to make your guests feel great. Guests notice these 10 things when they enter your home. ⬇️

1️⃣ Smell
This is the first thing people notice. You can clean the floors, put fresh linens, empty the trash & light a candle.

2️⃣ Entry
Ensure that it’s spacious with room for their shoes and bags.

3️⃣ Bathrooms
A clean restroom goes a long way. Make sure you have toilet paper, a nice spray, soap & a clean hand towel.

4️⃣ Pet hair
We love our pets, but no one loves being covered in hair. Use a lint roller before guests arrive.

5️⃣ Clean & Tidy
People are attracted to a clutter-free, clean space. You can clear surfaces, dust and vacuum.

6️⃣ Anticipate needs
Think about why family/friends are there and plan for what your guests might need. They may need sunscreen, drinks, snacks, & a charger.

7️⃣ Space to unpack
It’s nice to have room in the closet, hangers, a side table, a luggage rack.

8️⃣ Guest room
People love having a clock, charger, fresh linens, and a trash can. You can even add a mint on the pillow.

9️⃣ Stocked shower
It’s a great idea to have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, & q-tips. Everyone loves a nice robe too!

🔟 Extra touches
If you want to go above and beyond, you can get fresh flowers, have the WiFi password available, and grab their favorite items.
